Caryn relocated to Dubai in December 2023 with her family, which includes her husband and three children (two boys and a girl) from Cape Town, South Africa.

Prior to the move, she had a successful career in swimming instruction in South Africa. There she  taught swimming at two primary schools, both for physical education classes and for competitive swimming teams. Carlyn’s mornings were dedicated to private swimming lessons for students of all ages.

Teaching is her true passion. Before specializing in swimming, she spent three years coaching young children in various sports, helping them develop fundamental skills. Her experience in both sports coaching and swimming instruction has equipped me with a well-rounded understanding of athlete development and effective teaching methodologies.

As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy trail running and mountain biking. I’ve participated in numerous races, including multi-stage mountain bike events. During a previous stint in Mauritius (2010-2013), I developed a passion for Muay Thai. Beyond sports, I’m a dedicated coffee aficionado and a family-oriented individual. Traveling is a lifelong pursuit, and living in Dubai offers unparalleled opportunities for exploration. I maintain a strong commitment to health and fitness and am a continuous learner through daily podcasts.
