Salim is from Mombasa an island in Kenya but has lived in Dubai since 2017. He started swimming as a young child and began competing in the annual galas for the Kenya Sea Fearers Association. He then decided to turn his recreational swimming into his career.

Safety is always his first priority but his favorite part of coaching is seeing kids gain confidence and  helping them swim independently.
